Teaching with Purpose:
Reflections on our workshop with Katherine Reilly
Materials do not teach; teachers do.
This core principle guided our intensive 6-hour online workshop, "Teaching with Purpose: Responsive Practice for All Learners," which took place May 3, 2026
It was a privilege to host ELT author and teacher trainer Katherine Reilly for a session that moved far beyond the surface of "material adaptation." Together, we explored the professional artistry of responsive teaching, which is the ability to pivot and adjust pedagogical decisions to meet the diverse needs of every learner, whether in a high-tech classroom or a low-resource environment.
We gathered key highlights from the session here.
The workshop focused on high-impact, practical strategies that addressed the realities of the modern classroom:
Participants learned to dissect coursebooks to uncover hidden barriers that often hinder student progress.
We explored how lesson sequencing can act as a tool for behavior management, preventing issues before they arise.
Detailed discussions were held on teaching sensitive topics and supporting diverse identities, including SEN and intersectionality, with ethical precision.
Katherine demonstrated how to leverage AI as a genuine partner for scaffolding and workload reduction, rather than just a shortcut.
Practice over theory
True to our commitment to professional growth, the day was defined by collaborative problem-solving and case studies, ensuring every educator walked away with a toolkit ready for immediate implementation.
We thank you for your energy and the vulnerability you shared during our discussions. Your dedication to creating inclusive, responsive environments is what transforms the ELT landscape.
It was an honor to learn and grow alongside such a dedicated group of professionals.

While launching ENBI Agency we didn't just want to hold educational events, we wanted to return life to the classroom; we dreamt of creating the community where light ignites light. And we hope we did it! From the electric energy in Vinnytsia to the global connection of our Online Day, here is a look back at the magic we created together. Let's pop into the event one more time together.
We opened with a strong focus on the shifting landscape of the ELT world. Daryna Sizhuk (Cambridge Exams) and Lidiya Oryshchuk (Pearson Exams) provided vital updates from major exam centers, ensuring we are all aligned with the latest global standards. Day 1 was led by the brilliant Natalia Liashko, who sparked our creativity with her plenary on "STEAMing Up Your CLIL Lessons" and shared the art of effective workshop delivery. Natalia Zachynska grounded us with essential tips for YL Course Design, while we explored science and drama, re-discovered team bags and firefighting through the talent of Oleksandra Sydorenko, Tetiana Mariuk, and Tetiana Shelepko. We delved into exam success and 100 & 1 engaging activities for young learners with Oksana Vakhil, Svitlana Maierchuk, and Yana Hridasova, and discovered the imaginative power of books with Yulia Shevchenko. To top it off, Inna Ostrovska proved that STEM can be as sweet as ice cream!Day two was about the deep connection between teacher, student, and home. Olena Lysytsia showed us how to turn classroom "chaos" into discipline, while Lana Sushko focused on the vital bridge between school and parents. Iryna Prysiazhniuk and Iryna Shadrina transformed our approach to formative assessment, proving that learning is about more than just grades. We sharpened our listening strategies with Rimma Buchok and increased curiosity through science with Anna Levshun. Beyond the sessions, the spirit of giving was everywhere. Our book-sharing corner was a place of inspiration, and the conference was filled with excitement during our prize hunt. We even took a step toward the future of our planet; our eco-friendly "secret paper" can now be planted in flower pots to bloom into flowers.
We wrapped up the event online, bringing world-class insights to teachers everywhere. Glenn Standish and Chris Roland shared the fundamental principles of great primary lessons and vocabulary consolidation. Katherine Reilly empowered us to teach for success, while Keith Kelly introduced us to the world of Cognitive Discourse Functions. Looking toward the future, Alastair Grant prepared us for Generation Alpha, and Claudia Molnar reminded us that neurodiversity is the "new typical." Distance was no barrier to the magic, as our online participants received their own secret packs by mail, allowing them to participate in the event even from home! Most importantly, every participant has officially joined our exclusive "Secret ENBI Agency Community." As members of this professional inner circle, everyone now has access to special offers and unique discounts from our partners, ensuring your professional toolkit continues to grow long after the conference.
The conference may have ended, but the inspiration doesn't stop. If you want to relive a favorite moment, head over to our ENBI YouTube Channel for extra videos from our founders and many, many more resources.
